Wet Felted Lamp Shade

MONDAY-Learn how to create your own wool sheet of fabric. You'll have lots of fibers to choose from and embellishments. You will learn which fibers will and wont work with this process.

TUESDAY-We will come back to assemble your lamp. This may take only 1 hour.

Wet felting is an ancient, hands-on craft that uses hot water, soap, and friction to interlock wool fibers into a solid, durable fabric. By agitating layers of wool roving (often layered in alternating directions) with soapy water, the microscopic scales on the fiber open and lock together, shrinking and matting into a dense material.
