About The Event

Bring your holey sweaters and let's do some needlefelting. Make flowers, butterflies, monsters anything your imagination can muster up. Make that sweater NEW! Be sure to think about a pattern before hand or just wing it when you get here. We will only charge for the wool.

You may not finish within the 3 hour session but you will be well on your way to finish at home.

Info on EVENTBRITE

We're thrilled to welcome artist Ýr Jóhannsdóttir, better known as Ýrúrarí,  for our first Colossal Workshop of 2024. During this one-hour session,  Ýrúrarí will offer insight into her process and teach the needle-felting  technique she often uses in her creative mending projects that  transform sweaters into friends. The techniques are suitable for  complete beginners, just grab a needle and some wool and join in.

Required materials:

  • 150 grams of raw wool in colors of your choice. We recommend black, white, and a color.
  • A sponge or foam to be used as a surface, at least 5 centimeters thick.
  • One to three needle-felting needles.
  • A  piece of clothing or textile you want to personalize or mend,  preferably a knitted fabric. Tightly woven textiles can be hard to work  with using this technique, but you can always give a piece a try.

You'll  receive an email with the Zoom link before the workshop. All Colossal  Workshops are recorded, so if you can't make it day of, no worries.  We'll send out the video to everyone afterward.
