What is Ice Dyeing?

Ice dyeing is a fabric dyeing technique that uses ice to create intricate patterns on textiles, typically made of natural fibers like cotton or silk. The process involves laying dry fabric for maximum ice exposure, then piling ice and sprinkling dye powders over it. As the ice melts, the dye diffuses, creating unpredictable, organic patterns with gradient effects.

What to bring.................

Come bring a T-Shirt or 2, pre-washed if possible. All other supplies will be provided-The shirt/s must be cotton (as close to 100%), linen, viscose, hemp, silk and rayon

You will be leaving your dyed items at HBB for 24-48 hours. We will do the initial rinse and then you'll need to come back and pick it up. If you want to take yours home to do the rinse and wash, there will be a $5.00 depo to cover the bucket and colander. Both options…
