4 weeks; each class session will be 2.5 hours (class will require minimum of six (6) participants)

Cost of materials will vary depending on your selection of yarn. Patterns will be provided.
Week 1: Learn the basic foundation chain, single crochet stitch and increasing in a row.

Thursday, August 10   6:00pm-8:30pm

Start working on your own potholder. Learn the basics of reading a crochet pattern.
Week 2: Learn double crochet, how to change yarns and we will go over how to read a pattern.
Thursday, August 17  6:00pm-8:30pm

The Yarnover Truck will be here and we will have a brief introduction to the world of
yarn. You will have the opportunity to purchase yarn from the mobile yarn store for the
“Half-a-Granny Square Shawl” we will start this week.

Week 3: Continue working on our “Half-a-Granny Square Shawl” and address any questions or
issues that may have come up. We will discuss resources that are available to
crocheters on the web.

Thursday, August 24  6:00pm-8:30pm

Week 4: Learn how to finish your pattern, weave ends in and blocking techniques.
Materials: You will need to come to the first class with one ball 120 yards of Lily Sugar’n Cream
100% cotton yarn (worsted weight), a size 7 (4.5mm) hook, locking stitch markers and a
darning needle. These can be purchased at your local Joanns or Michael’s craft store.
For the “Half-a-Granny Square Shawl” you will have the opportunity to purchase yarn
and hook to complete the project from the Yarnover Truck, or you can purchase yarn
and hook for the pattern from your local Joanns or Michael’s. Cost will vary depending
on the type of yarn you choose.
