About The Event

Marisa Cody will take you through the process of taking wool and turning it into a vessel using a resist.

In this class, students will learn the ancient art of felting with wool. They will discover how to layer wool fibers, wet them with warm, soapy water, and use agitation and rolling techniques to create a dense, matted fabric through the process of fulling. Additionally, they will explore the rich history of felting, dating back to at least 6500 BC in Turkey, and its traditional and contemporary uses in textiles, clothing, and art. By the end of the class, students will have gained practical skills in felting and a deeper understanding of this versatile and enduring craft.

This workshop requires repetitive motion. We will take breaks. Feel free to bring a snack. Please bring a couple of small towels.
